Adding a Language

If you need to add a language, you can do so on the Speller Engine Manager tab of the Spell Driver Manager window.
Note: To add a language, you must have installed the language. Check http://www.spellchecker.com for languages supported.

To add a language to the list:

  1. Press the Add button.
  2. In the Add Language window, select the name of the language that you want to add, Only languages which are currently not installed appear. View the Add Language window.
  3. Press the Browse button next to the Engine Driver Location field.
  4. Locate the speller engine driver for this language.
  5. Speller engine drivers have .DLL extensions. View the Select Speller Engine Driver Window.
    Note: By default, Windows 95, 98, and NT hide .DLL files, so you may not be able to see the file to locate it. Refer to the Windows help to learn how to show all of these files.
  6. Press the Browse button next to the Engine Location field.
  7. Locate the speller engine for this language.
  8. Speller engines have .DLL extensions. View the Select Speller Engine window.
    Note: By default, Windows hide .DLL files, so you may not be able to see the file to locate it. Refer to the Windows help to learn how to show all of these files.
  9. Press the Open button. This completes the Engine Location field in the Add Language window.
  10. Press the Browse button next to the Dictionary Location field.
  11. Locate the dictionary for this Language. Dictionaries have .LEX extensions. View the Select Dictionary window.
  12. Press the Open button. This completes the Dictionary Location field in the Add Language window.
  13. Press the OK button. This adds entries for the speller engine and main dictionary for this language to your registration database and enters the language in the Language drop-down list on the Speller Engine Manager tab
